Gerald M. "Bud" Musch, age 93, of DeMotte, IN, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Symphony of Crown Point. He was born November 3, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Martin and Hilda (Bennema) Musch.
Bud lived in Lansing, Illinois for 50 years and has been a resident of DeMotte since 1986. He spent 53 loving years married to Joanne Harkema and together they raised four children. She preceded him in death in January 2002. Bud later married Gloria Moolenaar and she preceded him in death in August 2019. He served 3 years during World War II in the United States Navy and is a proud Veteran. Bud was a Teamster Local 705 truck driver for 45 years with WW Young & Sons and then Century Steel. He also continued to work part time for Wiers Chevrolet until his retirement. Bud was a member of the American Reformed Church of DeMotte. He enjoyed buying, fixing up and selling pickup trucks, socializing at coffee club and mowing his lawn that he was meticulous about. Bud was outgoing, dedicated, liked to have fun and joke around.
Bud is survived by his children: Gerald A. Musch of Cassopolis, MI: Robert (Joy) Musch of Shererville, IN; Sharon (Ron) Porter of DeMotte, IN; Ronald (Edie) Musch of DeMotte, IN; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Terborg and sister-in-law, Evelyn Musch.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joanne, second wife Gloria, siblings: Alice DeYoung, Garrett Musch, and Marjorie Kaluf; brother-in-laws, Lawrence Terborg, John Kaluf, and Kenny DeYoung; sister-in-law, Evelyn DeYoung.
Friends and family may gather, while practicing social distancing, at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 10:00 -12:00. p.m. A Private Family Service will be held at Holland Cemetery with Pastor Jim Busscher officiating.
