Thomas M. Piccolo, 94, of Pawcatuck, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was the husband of the late Kathryn "Kay" (Faulise) Piccolo.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Paolo and Bomina Piccolo.
Thomas was the proprietor of Sunrise Market for years until his retirement. He was a member of the Westerly High School Class of 1945 where he served as a co-captain of the football team. He belonged to many local clubs and organizations including the YMCA and the Pawcatuck Italo-American Club, and was a former life member of the Westerly Yacht Club and the BPOE #678 where he was Elk of the Year in 1975. Thomas was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
He leaves his three children, Patrice P. Keena of Southington, CT, Thomas P. Piccolo and wife Patricia of Pawcatuck, and David M. Piccolo and wife Diane of Jupiter, FL; as well as two sisters, Helen Corina of Westerly and Julia Wilcox of Ashaway. Thomas will also be dearly missed by his five grandchildren, Charity, Marisa, Matthew, Michael, Destiny; five great-grandchildren, Alivia, Alayna, Liam, Rosaline and Simon; one great-great-granddaughter Adrianna; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings, Joseph, Anthony, Minnie, Mary, Angie and Pauline.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 10-11am, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the funeral home.
