Mrs. Adams was a daughter of Henry and Hannah Lepperd and was born March 19, 1836, at Pleasant Grove, near Dellville, in Wheatfield Township. She was married to Richard K. Adams on the 9th of March, 1854, by the Rev. Samuel Kuhn, pastor of the Reformed Church of this place. Mr. Adams died about eight years ago. Six sons and one daughter were born to them, namely: William H. Adams,(deceased), John D. Adams, of DeKalb, Ill., Levi A. Adams, of Trenton, NJ, Joseph R. Adams, of this place, George A. Adams, of Asbury Park, NJ, Hannah E. (Mrs. S.C. Rambo) of Carroll Township, and Hiram D. Adams, of Philadelphia. One brothers, Joesph Lepperd, Esq. of Wheatfield Township, also survives. Mrs. Adams was a consistant member of the Lutheran Church from early girlhood, belonging to the congregtation at Dellville. She was a woman of true Christian Character, and a devoted wife and mother and good neighbor and friend. He death is sadly mourned be her children, relatives and many friends. A truly good woman, after a long and useful life, has laid down her earthly burdens and gone to her reward on high.
The funeral took place on Friday forenoon, the servces being held in the *Delville Lutheran Church, Rev. Rice, assisted by Rev. W.J. Wagner, conducting the services. Interment was in the church cemetery. The pallbearers; John Brunner, Washington Holmes, James Baxter, and C.A. Egolf. All the children of the deceased attended the funeral.
*Many years ago the Delville UM Church was St. David's Lutheran Church. The cemetery north of the church building is a Lutheran Cemetery. However it is now maintained by the Delville United Metodist Church. In any case it is a beautiful place to take your final rest.
