William Allen Spivey passed away on December 28, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Allen was born on a farm near Devine Texas on January 23, 1921 to William Edward and Jessie Littleton Spivey. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1939.

He began a federal service career at San Antonio Air Depot, Duncan Field in the Aircraft Maintenance Division and served until he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He served in a Bombardier Training Squadron in Roswell New Mexico until shipment overseas to serve with the 5th Bomber Command in the Pacific Theater. His final duty was with Army of Occupation Japan until honorable discharge in 1946. Upon return from the military service he returned to a job in the Aircraft Maintenance Directorate at Kelly AFB where he worked until his retirement from Civil Service. In April of 1951 he married Georgia Nell Myer and became a loving father to Mike and Nancy Awalt. He was married to Nell until her death in 2010.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jessie Spivey, wife, Georgia Nell Spivey, son, Dr. Houston Mike Awalt, sisters, Kathleen Ellis and Billie Ruth Powell and his granddaughter Stacy Annette Awalt.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy Spencer (Leroy), sister Juanita Crowe, grandsons Brad Awalt (Jamie) and Ryan Spencer, granddaughters Leslie Spencer, Kelly Donnelly (Ryan), Lauren Tucker (Clint), seven great grandchildren and two nieces and three nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, 2:00pm at Mission Park South, 1700 SE Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas.
