Grace Marie Arp, 92, Salisbury, died January 9, 1998 at the Chariton Park Health Care Center in Salisbury.
She was born February 10, 1905 in Aledo, Mercer County, Illinois, the daughter of George and Evila (Goodnough) Brown. She moved to Mendon at the age of five with her parents. She was married to Walter Arp on September 19, 1925 in Mendon. They lived on the family farm until after Walter's death in 1963.
In 1947 she joined the Zion Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to the Mendon Methodist Church. In 1977 she moved to the Keytesville Senior Housing. She had been a resident of the Chariton Park Health Care Center for many years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law. Alta Dean and Beuford Joseph of Brunswick; a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Eleanor Arp of Moberly; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild,one step-great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Verl, one infant grandson, a step-great-grandchild, seven brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held at the Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick on January 12, with the Rev. Stanley Henderson officiating. Burial was in Newcomer Cemetery near Mendon.
Paulbearers were Clifford and Donald Arp, Kenneth and Howard Joe Littrell, and Donald and Bob Adams.
Memorials may be made to the Newcomer Cemetery.
