Darrell D. Arp, age 70, of Salisbury died Feburary 9th, 2001 at his home. He was born December 31, 1930 in rural Mendon, the son of Walter and Grace Brown Arp. He had lived in Moberly, Keytesville, Indian Grove, Braymer and Hale before moving to Salisbury in 1998.
He married Eleanor Morenz Knapp on July 25, 1977 in Tuscola, Illinois. Mr. Arp was a farmer and had worked for the railroad as a test foreman in the signal department for 14 years. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Verl Elwood Arp and a step-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of the home; two sons, Dennis Arp and his wife, Margo of Independence and Richard Arp of Keytesville; two daughters, Deborah Jo Jackson and her husband, Jon of Shawnee, Kansas and Denise Blackwell and her husband, Rod of Keytesville; one step-son, Church Knapp of Rolla and four step-daughters, Marilyn Smith, Kathy Butler and Julie Woodworth of Illinois and Linda Kaufman of Columbia; one sister, Alta Dean Joseph of Brunswick; eight grand-children; 11 step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step great-granddaughters; and three nieces.
Visitation was held February 11th at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Funeral services were held February 12th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury with Rev. Willard Kassulke in charge.
Pallbears were Stacey Clark, Brian Arp, Shannon Arp, Kyle Smith, Rodney D. Blackwell, and Erik Petitt.
Burial was in the Newcomer Cemetery South of Mendon.
Memorials were suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Homecare of Mid-Missouri Hospice.
