Warren W. (Woodie) Rocke Sr., 96, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Born September 7, 1916, in Botetourt County, he was a son of the late Jacob S. and Alice Damewood Rocke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Ripley Rocke; wife, Violet Corbett Roocke; five brothers; four sisters; one grandson; one stepgrandson; and one stepgranddaughter.
A graduate of Troutville High School, he attended National Business College. Woodie was a member of Troutville Baptist Church since 1928.
Surviving are his sons, Warren W. Rocke Jr. and wife, Betty, of Glen Allen, and Ronald E Rocke and wife, Jenny, of Boones Mill; two stepsons, Melvin Corbett and wife, Johnie, of Fincastle and Larry Corbett, of Roanoke; a stepson-in-law, Frank Beverage, of Staunton; three grandsons, Eddie Rocke and wife, Tammy, of Roanoke, Chris Rocke and wife, Ginny, of Richmond, and Jeffrey Rocke and wife, Rebecca, of Monroe, N.Y.; two stepgrandsons, Kelly Corbett, of Washington, D.C. and John Dye and wife, Beth, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; eight great-grandchildren, Margaret (Maggie) and Dalton Rocke, Kate, Mathew, and Douglas Rocke, and Josh, Sabra, and Brenda Tenda; and two great-great-grandchildren, Harley and Elania Tenda.
The family extends special thanks to Woodie's many friends and loving staff at Our Lady of the Valley.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Woodie Rocke will be held at noon on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Troutville Baptist Church. The Rev. Carol H. Johnston will officiate.
