Violet Gray Bussard Corbett Rocke, 90, joined her Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Violet was born in Highland County, Virginia, to Nathan and Myrtle Bussard. She was one of five children. Violet was predeceased in death by her brother, Guy and his wife, Mabel; three sisters and their husbands, Mary Carpenter and husband, Herm, Mildred Mills and husband, Roland, and Edna Klemzack and husband, Walter; and great-grandson, Michael Arbogast. Violet is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Warren Woodrow Rocke Sr.; her children and spouses, Ionia Louvone Corbett Beverage and husband, Frank, Melvin Curtis Corbett and wife, Johnie, and Larry Willard Corbett; two stepsons, Warren W. Rocke Jr. and wife, Betty and Ronald E. Rocke and wife, Jenny;six grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of Violet's life will be held at Oakey's North Chapel on Peters Creek Road, 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, with burial in Troutville Cemetery. Reverend Chris C. Foster of the Troutville Brethren Church and the Rev. Carol Johnston of the Troutville Baptist Church will officiate. The family will be receiving friends at Oakeys North Chapel on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Troutville Brethren Church, the Troutville Baptist Church or the Troutville Rescue/Fire Departments. The family would like to invite friends of the Rocke and Corbett families to join us immediately following the burial for a meal to be served at the Troutville Brethren Church prepared by the ladies of the church.∼Wife of W.
