Chattanooga - Miss Irene Bowers, 68, 292 Bulldog Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at Erlanger Hospital following a brief illness.
Miss Bowers was a Carter County native and a daughter of the late Charlie Bowers and Gracie Williams Bowers Richardson.
She was a Baptist.
Miss Bowers was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lige Richardson.
Survivors include one sister, Pauline Stout, Elizabethton; two brothers, Eugene Bowers and Burle Bowers, both of Elizabethton; two nieces, Judy Jones and Shirley Burks, both of Elizabethton; three nephews, Randy Bowers and Larry Bowers, both of Elizabethton, and Randy Bowers, Watauga; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
