A visitation for Cartha will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET at Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, Alabama. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM ET with Brother Logan Kinsey officiating. She will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.
Cartha leaves behind her beloved daughters and son in-law, Carla Graves and Mashonda (Mike) Taylor; granddaughter Keisha Gant (Sam) Lentz; sister in-law Doris Graves Davidson; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Jerry Wayne Graves; infant son, Jerry Len Graves; father, Rev. Herbert G. Buckels; mother, Mildred Bailey Buckels; step-mother, Dora Lively Buckels; brothers, Edwin, Lester, and Wayne Buckels; and sister, Victoria Buckels McGowan.
Cartha was a woman of grace who always put others before herself. She had a heart of gold and touched the lives of everyone she met with her kind words and warm smile. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
