Our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away July 4, 2007 at the age of 85. He was born June 11, 1922 in Delta, Utah to Mabel Corry Davis and Oliver Davis. The oldest of 10 siblings, Mac was a dutiful and loving son who worked hard to help his parents care for his younger brothers and sisters during the difficult years of the Depression. He graduated from Delta High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Mac mar-ried the love of his life, Mildred Holmes, in January 1952 and they shared 55 wonderful years together. As a young man he worked as a brick mason helping to construct many buildings in the Salt Lake Valley. In 1964 he began a new career at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah where he worked until his retirement in 1982. He was a dedicated husband and father who put the comfort and well being of his family first. Dad was the backbone of our family and even at his advanced age and in failing health he could be relied upon to offer help and advice or just a soft place to fall. We have many fond memories of life with dad, but his dry sense of humor and mischievous smile are what we'll miss most of all. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; sons, McKay, Mark, and William, all of Salt Lake City; daughter, Mary (Luis) Rodriguez of Seattle, Washington; siblings, Jessie Richards, Katherine (Derrell) Adam, Reed (Ruth) Davis, Scott Davis, Mona (Clair) Brunson, Laurel (Wendell) Holmes; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Murray City Cemetery.
