Oliver P. Davis, age 91, peacefully passed away on March 26, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born Jan. 1, 1907 in Salt Lake City to Oliver Lee and Sarah Ann Harding Davis. Married May Dibble Hender on Oct. 27, 1928, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away Oct. 30, 1976.
Active member of the LDS Church serving a stake mission, member of the High Council, High Priest Group Leader, Bishop and guide at Welfare Square. Worked as a brick mason, city councilman, Mayor and City Manager of South Salt Lake City, President of the Salt Lake County Council of Governments.
Survived by children, Pauline (Robert) Hardy, Salina, UT; Warren (Laurette) Davis, Midvale, UT; Tom (Julie) Davis, Murray, UT; Carolyn Davis, Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, Helen Davis, Murray, UT; 27 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren; brothers and siters, John Davis, Jessie Richards, McKay Davis, all Salt Lake; Reed Davis, IL; Scott Davis, CA; Shirley Turnhup, CA; Kathrine Adams, Murray, UT; Laurel Holmes, Salt Lake; Mona Brunson, Kearns, UT. Preceded in death by sons, Robert and Vaughn; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 31, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Haven Kimball Ward, 2300 South 300 East. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 South State and Tues. at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
