Maria Latsch Bloess, daughter of Henry and Anna Barbara (Schafer) Latsch, came to America thru Baltimore 1835 when only one year old with her parents, siblings and John Peter Latsch. She married Theo Bloess on September 4th, 1853, eloping on horseback from Pettit County, MO. into neighboring Morgan County, MO. She lived most of her life, after the Civil War, in St. Louis, Missouri and died while visiting Wiesbaden Germany.
