Wilma Ilean Brooks, age 81, long time Fairfield resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2020, in Fairfield, California. She was born May 17, 1938, in Sacramento to Wilmoth and Lila Harmon.
Ileen, as she was known by, married Charles (Gene) Brooks Sr. on December 18, 1954. They raised two sons, Chuck and Mike, and two daughters, Becky and Bobbie. She will be greatly missed for her caring and loving nature. Ilean lived a fulfilling life as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife, aunt, and friend. She loved crocheting, reading, bingo, Sunday family dinners, and following her beloved 49ers.
She began her career at WonderWorld as a salesperson in the women’s department. She then went to work for VacaValley bank as a teller, head teller, and bookkeeper. She continued her career at NorCal Plumping as a bookkeeper and finally worked at CMT Federal Credit Union until she retired.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Mirella) Brooks of Kapolei, HI and daughter, Becky Yarrow of San Diego; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother Will Harmon of Manteca, Ca.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Wilson and Lizabeth Kalostos, one brother, Wayne Harmon Sr; Son, Charles Brooks Jr, daughter, Bobby Mitchell, and husband Gene Brooks.
Services will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, Ca. Please join us for a celebration of Life and tribute to the Brooks’ family to follow at The Club House at Rancho Solano, Fairfield, Ca.
