She was the daughter of Leo A. Porter, of Massachusetts, noted Pennsylvania Chief Bridge Engineer and Martha Witwer Porter of Illinois.
Marcia was a graduate of Harrisburg Catholic High School, Class of 1949 and earned an Associate Degree in Fine Art from Mount Aloysius Junior College, Class of 1952. She served as Junior and Senior Delegates for the school to the National Federation of Catholic College Students (NFCCS).
She retired as a Special Correspondent with Pennsylvania Blue Shield (Highmark) after thirty years of service.
Marcia had been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church since 1945, a volunteer with their choir, their soup kitchen, and was active in the Boy Scout and Girl Scout Programs of the church.
She served as a member of the Catholic College Women of Harrisburg and with the Young Women's Christian Association Board of Directors in their Camp Reily program.
Marcia was a life-long resident of Harrisburg.
As the family genealogist, she documented their history - verifying the Euker family's original name was (Thomas) Mullany from Huntingdon and originally from Ireland. Historical records of the Witwer family (Pennsylvania - 1727) and the Porter family (Massachusetts - 1635) were verified and now trace back that her family lived in Pennsylvania and the United States of America for hundreds of years.
In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years: Bernard A. Euker, Jr.; her grandson: Steven R. Kann; her sister: Suzanne Joan Porter McHale; her son-in-law: Judge Donald F. Howell; and, her fiance: Raymond Paul Palonis.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen S. Euker Howell of Newport, Jeanne M. Euker Keller (Barry) of Sanford, Florida, Barbara A. Euker of Harrisburg, Mary Kay Euker Mims (Eddie) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Suzanne J. Euker Sahagun of Moreno Valley, California; her sons: Patrick V. Euker (Maurie) and Richard L. Euker of Harrisburg and Gregory B. Euker (Jennifer) and Brian K Euker of Atwater, California; her thirteen grandchildren; her nineteen great-grandchildren; her three sisters-in-law; her three brothers-in law; and, her nieces and nephews.
A Viewing will be held in St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church on Monday, March 09, 2020 from 10:30 AM until the time of Mass. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
