IVAN ANGEL

SUMMERFIELD Mr. Ivan Angel, 86, lifelong resident of Summerfield, died Monday,
Dec. 6, 2004.

Funeral service for Mr. Angel will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist
Church of Summerfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Guilford County, Mr. Angel was born on Sept. 25, 1918, the son of
J.S. and Ora Tharp Angel. He was a member of First Baptist Church of
Summerfield, a World War II Navy veteran stationed aboard the USS Birmingham and
was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Co. On Dec. 12, 1939, he married the former
Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Winfree. Mrs. Angel died on April 12, 2000. Mrs. Angel
described Ivan as "almost perfect" and he referred to Lib as "his doll". their
65th wedding anniversary would have been this year.

Surviving are the children, Barbara A. Cockman and Dwight Angel of Summerfield;
grandchildren, Dawn Williams of Jamestown, Tina Burkhart of High Point and Shad
Cockman of Summerfield; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Austin, Brandi, Schyler,
Dalton, Tyler, Dylan and Kirsten. Also surviving Mr. Angel are his sisters, Ila
Ingold, Lib Nelson, Gladys Scarlette and Hilda Pegram, all of Summerfield; and
his sisters-in-law, Frances Angel and Rachel Angel, also of Summerfield.
