Alvin Yuell ‘Al’ Buck, 81, of Hutchinson, died February 14, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1938, in Hutchinson, the son of Albert and Oleta (Hamblin) Buck.
Al graduated from Partridge High School and Emporia State University. He served in the Air National Guard. Al was former owner of AB Roofing and worked for Sears and at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He also officiated high school and college football and basketball games for 17 years. Al was a member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson.
On March 6, 2018, he married Juleta Tennant in Hutchinson. She survives.
Also surviving are: sons, David Buck (Jami), Wichita, Doug Buck, Hutchinson; granddaughters, Katelyn Williams (Zach), Olathe, Kristin Buck (Luis Miguel), Wichita; brother, Charlie Buck (Cheryl), South Hutchinson; sisters, Luleta Wills, South Hutchinson, Lorraine Warnken (Dave), Hutchinson, Connie Wise (Kenneth), Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Al was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Richard, Robert, Bill, Gene, Albert Jr.; and sister, Annabelle Watts.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2020, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th Ave., with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
