Alta Edelle Burton Funeral Wednesday

Funeral for Alta Edelle Burton, 82, of Central Avenue, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Burton died at 3 a.m. Monday, May 4, 1992, at Community Care Center.

She was born in Johnson County Jan. 7, 1910, the daughter of Charles and Henrietta Goetz Wirey.

Survivors include sons, Max Burton of Seymour and Steven M. Burton of Columbus; a daughter, Mary Gladding of Hope; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
