Nena Allen Dies; Services Monday

Mrs. Nena May Allen, wife of O'Neal Allen, died Thursday night at 11:15 o'clock in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. She had been ill for three and a half months.

Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and will be in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home. The Rev. James Ellerbrook, pastor of the Tabernacle Christian Church, will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Calling Hours Set

Friends may call at the funeral home any time after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, to please donate to the Cancer Fund.

The daughter of the late Charles and Henrietta Wirey, Mrs. Allen was born June 29, 1897, in Bartholomew County.

Her family moved to Franklin shortly after her birth and she attended the county schools. The remainder of her life was spent here.

At Louisville, Ky., on Aug. 7, 1940, she was married to Mr. Allen. Mrs. Allen had been employed at Varynit Mills, Inc., for several years.

She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church.

The survivors are the husband, a son, Kenneth Long, of Richmond, by a previous marriage; and four grandchildren.

Also remaining are two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Miller, Mrs. Edell Burton, of Columbus and two brothers, Lester Wirey, of Franklin; and James Wirey, of Indianapolis.
