Helen King, 89, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2007, in Catherine's Care Center. Born on April 21, 1918, in Shadyside, Ohio, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophia (Bargiel) Duplaga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Attorney George A. King, in 1977; and a brother, Edmund Duplaga of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Mrs. King grew up in Tiltonsville, Ohio; graduated in 1936 from Warren Consolidated High School; and attended Steubenville Business College. Her previous employment was with the Jefferson County Clerk of Courts; and the Jefferson County Children's Services Board. She was an artist and taught oil painting in her home studio for many years; and was an avid Big Red football fan. Surviving are her son, George (Dr. Michalene) King of Wintersville, Ohio; granddaughter, Lisa King of Wintersville; and a daughter, Helen Jung of Pennsylvania. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 24, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. at McClave Chandler-Mills Funeral Home, 143 Canton Road, Wintersville, Ohio. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating.
