"FORT ANN - Vilma N. Coutant, 80, of Fort Ann, passed into the arms of her loving husband at Albany Medical on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010. Vilma was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Hastings-on-Hudson. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Anne Nyemchek. Vilma was employed at Scott Paper Co. in Fort Edward for 17 years. Vilma loved having her family and friends around her, she also loved working in her flower garden, enjoyed her game shows and trips to the casino. Vilma was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred R. Coutant and son, Nicholas J. Coutant, her siblings John, Mike and Frank Nyemchek, Rosie Bear, Mary Ann Scallero, Mary Rooney and Helen Zekus. Surviving siblings are Irene Fecko, Anne, Milano, Elizabeth Lehoisky and Joseph Nyemchek. Vilma is survived by four daughters: Christine A. Bell and husband, Tom, Nancy Lobo, Marie Williams, Barbara Watson and husband, Tim; three sons: Michael R. Coutant and wife, Jeannie, James Coutant and Bruce Coutant and wife, Patti; her very close friend and partner in crime, Harriet Humason of Hudson Falls; 19 grandchildren: Nicholas Coutant, Thomas Coutant, Phillip Allen Bell, Barbara Jo Bell, Michael Lobo, Brandy Lobo, Joey Lobo, Wendy Williams, Heather Williams, Stephanie Williams and Sarah Williams, Amanda Coutant, Cassidy Coutant, Shannon Coutant, Jimmy Coutant, Holly Coutant, Megan Coutant, Natalee Coutant and Chelsea Coutant; 21 great-grandchildren; plus several nieces and nephews.
