Born in Ossining, N.Y., on Jan. 9, 1928, he was a Frostproof winter resident from Fort Ann, N.Y. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a corrections officer in Great Meadow Comstock, N.Y. He was a member of Phonix Hall Masonic Lodge, Demalay. He is survived by his wife, Vilma N. Coutant ; daughters, Christine Bell, Santa Rosa, Calif., Nancy Lobo, Fort Ann, Marie Williams, Alexandria, Va., and Barbara Watson, White Hall, N.Y.; sons, Michael George Coutant , Melbourne, James Coutant , Apopka, and Bruce Coutant , Fort Ann; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
