Mary “Pat” Patricia Green Christopher passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. Pat was born in Detroit, MI on August 25, 1935, the first of 5 children to Mary Christine Green (Dawson) and Charles William Green.
Pat attended St Patrick’s school in Wyandotte, MI and went on to graduate from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Detroit in 1956, and to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University in 1972. She loved nursing and worked in many areas of the profession including the hospital, the emergency room, the Department of Health, private duty nursing, teaching and General Motors. In retirement she continued to give of herself by volunteering with Hospice and at her parish Our Lady of Peace in Darien, IL.
Pat was an avid gardener and loved to travel. She worked on the family tree, opened her home to everyone, was smart and more importantly wise, and gave her love unconditionally. She was filled with love for the Lord and is now given into His care.
Pat was well loved and is survived by her children Kathy (Tim) Ramsey, Anne (Dave) Schwartz and Michael (Darlene) Christopher. She is the cherished Grandmother of Jacob Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey, Claire Ramsey, Kathleen Schwartz, David Schwartz and Valerie Christopher. Dearest sister of Sally Green, Christine Martin, Kay (Dennis) Baker, and Bill (Ruth) Green.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 32340 Pierce St, Beverly Hills, MI. Internment will take place immediately after the Mass at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 25800 W 10 Mile Rd, Southfield, MI.
