Samuel P. Meyer, retired farmer of Ebenezer, died at his home this morning at 6:30 o'clock, at the age of 76 years, following an Illness of complication which kept him bedfast for the past week. Mr. Meyer was a son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Yingst) Meyer and was a native of Lebanon County. For the past 62 years Mr. Meyer was a resident of the village of Ebenezer, and for 60 years he was a member of the Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren Church. For the past twenty-one years Mr. Meyer served as sexton of the church, and caretaker of the cemetery. He is survived by three sons and two daughters as follows: Maurice Meyer, Lebanon Route 3; Arthur Meyer, Annville Route 1; Harvey K. Meyer, Burbank, California; Mrs. Paul Arnold, Lebanon Route 3; and Mrs. Grover Halsell, Lebanon. Nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Services were held in the Arnold Funeral Home, 712 Chestnut Street, this afternoon for Samuel P. Meyer, late of Ebenezer, followed with Interment in Ebenezer Cemetery. Revs. O. R. Brooks and Grant N. Miller officiated at the services. Bearers were Morris Meyer, Jr., John Meyer, Robert Meyer, Mertls Kindt, Harry Kindt and Samuel Meyer. C. LeRoy Arnold attended to arrangements.
