Annette (McHugh) Alleman, 38, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center with family and friends by her side. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27 at Calvary Lutheran Church for the Deaf, with burial at Lincoln Cemetery, west of Alleman, Iowa.

Annette was born December 3, 1965 in Creston, Iowa to Stan and Dora McHugh. She was a 1984 graduate of the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Bruce Alleman on June 29, 1991 and they were married for twelve years. Annette was a member of the National Fraternal for the Deaf and Calvary Lutheran Church for the Deaf. She loved to travel and visit family and friends. Annette also enjoyed doing a variety of crafts of which she was very talented. She loved animals, especially dogs, which she considered her kids.

In addition to her parents, Annette is survived by her sisters, April Dunkin (partner Steve Lowe) and Angela Fees (husband Todd Fees); brother, Andrew McHugh (wife Shelly McHugh); nephews and nieces, Casey Turner, Jeremy and Jenna Dunkin, Mackenzie McHugh and Hunter and Heather Fees; friend, Mike Bishop; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dean and Edith McHugh and Glen and Doris Bourne; her uncle, Larry McHugh; and aunt, Glenda Reed.

Visitation begins after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
