Mr. Carl Wesley “Wes” Walker, age 80, Grayson, Kentucky, entered into rest, Monday morning, January 6, 2020, at his home.
He was born April 5, 1939, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Calvin Walker and May Kitchen.
Wes was of the United Baptist faith and a member of the Mt. Chapel Church. He served as the Deputy Sheriff four years under Joe Kitchen and later was elected as the Carter County Sheriff for one term. Wes was a member of the Willard Masonic Lodge #626 and he enjoyed trading cattle, going to church, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Pennington Walker; two sons, Rick Walker of Willard, Kentucky, and Rock Walker of Grayson, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Rachael Walker of Willard, Kentucky, and Ryan Walker of Grayson, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Kadin Criswell of Grayson, Kentucky, and Dylan Rivers of Willard, Kentucky; and one brother, Larry McDavid of Grayson, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020,
at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Scott Baier, Brother Bo Mayo, and Brother Tim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the East Carter Memory Gardens Grayson, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
