Lloyd Haskell Parsons was born March 21, 1933 to Owner Parsons and Gertie (Allison) Parsons in Bluff, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, David Parsons. Lloyd proudly served in the United States Army and after his honorable service he returned to the family farm in Choctaw County. On May 28, 1960 he married Ellen Lavon Parsons and that is where they raised their sons and daughter. Lloyd was a farmer and rancher his entire life. He loved his family and loved to work. Lloyd loved to bale hay, harvest pecans and sprig grass roots. He was known by many as “the root man” for sprigging grass all over Southeastern Oklahoma and North East Texas. Even after he was physically unable to manage the day to day operation of his ranch, he would still enjoy going out in the fields and giving his advice on what needed to be done. Lloyd served over two decades as the President of the Choctaw County Ambulance Authority and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. Lloyd will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lavon; sons, Glenn Parsons and wife Sharon of Wascum, TX.; Randy Parsons of Lawton, OK; daughter, Vicki Parsons and fiancé Kenneth McClain of Bluff, OK; sister, Maeburn Bailey of District Heights, MD.; brother in law, Tommy Edge and wife Shirley of Soper, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Harless and husband Payton, Alicia Smallwood and husband Cole, Gayla Parsons, Randi Lee Baker and husband Freddy, Cassie Parsons, Jacee Miller and Kaci Miller; eight great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
