Harold Eugene Uhl

Harold Eugene Uhl, 82, of Route 2, Williamstown, died Monday at Marietta Convalescent Center.

Uhl was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired as a meat cutter from Young's Market, Marietta. He attended Sand Hill United Methodist Church, Boaz.

He was born near Williamstown, a son of the late Earl Douglas and Bertha Irene Athey Uhl.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bessie Frances Snyder Uhl; five sons, Robert E. Uhl of Parkersburg, Stephen M. Uhl of Greene, Ohio, Richard H. Uhl of Cleveland, S.C., Kenneth W. Uhl of Williamstown and David E. Uhl of Easley, S.C.; four daughters, Patty S. Jackson and Nancy DeLong, both of Parkersburg, Cathy Uhl of Vienna and Paula Jessup of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Lewis Douglas Uhl of Parkersburg; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mable Chancler, Marie Sands and Bertha Maddox.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with the Rev. Jeff Nolte officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
