Edith F. Palmer, 87, formerly of 8760 S. SR 53, McCutchenville, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Palmer was born Dec. 8, 1919, to Russell and Saloma (Boomershine) Bell, who are deceased.
On June 30, 1945, she married Wayne Palmer. He died April 26, 2004.
Surviving are: five children, Ruth (Mark) Stephens of Worland, Wyo., Janet (William) Bird of Elyria, Carol (Ron) Castillo of Weslaco, Texas, Helen (Carl) Shinn of McCutchenville and Richard (Kim) Palmer of Findlay; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Willey, Tuscon, Ariz.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Wayne Bell.
Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker and also helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in McCutchenville. She also was the church organist and choir director for many years. She was a member of the Womens Guild of the church, the Sweet Adelines of Fostoria, the Seneca County Farm Bureau and McCutchen Grange.
Mrs. Palmer was a 1937 graduate of McCutchenville High School. She loved working in her garden and canning, and she loved to sew.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at Trinity United Church of Christ. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville, the Wyandot Health Foundation or the Wyandot County Nursing Home.
