Thelma M. Hughes, age 89, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Nov., 25, 2019, at a local skilled care center. She was born Sept. 22, 1930 in England, Ark., to Ola Mae Castleberry and Brian W. Speck. Thelma was a member of First Christian Church of Rogers, Ark. She sang with the Saints Alive Choir for many years with Rogers First Baptist. She loved watching all Razorback sports.

Thelma was a medical assistant for over 30 years. She was an avid reader and loved flowers and working in her yard. In the late 1980s she served the city of Pea Ridge, Ark. with the City Council. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially time with her grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Cindy Keeling, son Daniel Charles Hughes, and sisters Wilma, Willa, and Betty. She is survived by daughters Charlene Hagan (John) of Rogers, Ark., Susan Caldwell (John) of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Lynnette Harris (Pat) of Rogers, Ark. Also surviving are siblings Brian Speck, Jr. of West Fork, Ark., and Mary Louis Hall and Wanda Heflin, both of Rogers, Ark., 14 grands, 28 great-grands, and three great-great-grands.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 from 5-7 pm at First Christian Church in Rogers, Ark. and a celebration of life will be held Sat., Nov. 30, 2019, also at the church, officiated by Randy Graves. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park, 3800 West Walnut, Rogers, Ark.
