Emmitt Shipp, 75, a retired farmer of White Rose Road in Campbellsville, son of the late Clarence Shipp and Mary Etta
Shipp, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, November 16, 1914, and died at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 1990 at his
home. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church.
He united in marriage to Viola Caulk December 29, 1938, who
preceded him in death January 18, 1988. To this union two sons and three daughters were born, Emmitt Shipp Jr. preceded his father in death March 16, 1986. He is survived
by Delano Shipp, Kathleen Perkins and Judy Tennyson, all of
Campbellsville and Barbara Jean Hunt of Fort Walton Beach,
Florida. Besides his children, he is survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers and
one sister, Earnest Shipp and Lee Shipp, both of Campbellsville and Mary Ethel Shipp of Lebanon, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also
survive. The funeral was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 5
at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with
the Rev. Donnie Blick officiating. Burial was in Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry
Hash, Jimmie Graham, Elbert Shofner, Henry Pierce, James Richard DeWitt and Hoover French.
