The Austin Daily Herald 1951-11-01 page 23: Mrs. Evelyn Alice Hultin, daughter of Nels and Gertrude Johnson, was born April 21, 1905, at Adams, Minnesota. (Baptized May 28, 1905)


She attended the public schools of Adams through the grades and high school. She received her religious instruction from Rev. C.B. Runsvold and was confirmed on May 18, 1919. She attended St. Olaf College of Northfield, Minnesota majoring in Latin and English, graduating with the class of 1927. In college she was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Choir and the Alpha Delta Society. She taught for several years in the high school at Little Falls and Minneapolis, Minnesota.


On June 29, 1929, she was united in marriage to Clifford Hultin at the Little Cedar Lutheran Church by the Rev. Alfred Brievik. Two children were born to this union, Linda Solveig and Sonja Ruth, now 8 and 6 years old. The family moved to Washington, D.C. in 1935 and Mrs. Hultin subsequently worked for a few years in the Department of Interior and the American Battle Monument Commission.


Mrs. Hultin's health commenced failing in January of this year. Her illness later became diagnosed as that of a lung malignancy. Death came to relieve her suffering on Tuesday, October 23, at the age of 46 years, 6 months and 2 days. at a hospital in Arlington, Virginia, after many months' illness.


She is survived by her husband, Clifford Hultin, her two liitle daughters, 2 brothers, Edwin and Wallace Johnson of Adams, Minnesota, Sisters, Nora, Mrs. N.V. Torgerson, Ada, Mrs. Lawrence Knutson of Seattle; and Miss Alma Johnson of Crookston, Minnesota.


Memorial services were held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Luther Place Memorial church, Washington, D. C., of which Mrs. Hultin was a member. On Saturday, Oct. 27, funeral services were held at Little Cedar Lutheran church, preceded by a family service at the Nordeen Torgerson home. Burial was in the family plot at the Little Cedar Lutheran cemetery. Rev. M. L. Witte officiated and music was provided by Mrs. Gerald Hanson and H. E. Lunde, who sang "God Be With You" and "Behold a Host Arrayed in White." Mrs. M. L. Witte was organist.
