In 1918, Ida resigned as private secretary to the probate judge in Jackson, MN. In 1918, she accepted a position in the Jackson National Bank. In January 1920, Ida and her sister Alma shared a home on 2nd Street in Jackson Village. Ida was working as a stenographer in a bank, Alma was working as a stenographer in a county office. Ida and Lawrence were married at high noon in the home of her parents in Adams. They moved to Fargo, ND, after 1920.
