The body of Leander has never been found. It is said that he went to Arkansas to see one of his cousins, but along the way he fell down a mineshaft and died. His cousin never saw or heard from him.The evidence of him falling down a mineshaft is someone possibly his cousin found a coat outside of the area where the mineshaft was that he fell down.

His Mother Elmina Dorman hired the Pinkerton Detective Agency to find him,but after years of looking they were unable to find him.

I wish I could find a wanted poster or a report from the Pinkertons saying they looked for him or a newspaper article, but so far I have yet to find anything.
