Karen was born in Sedro-Woolley on May 5, 1968 to Richard & Betty Swihart. She attended Sedro-Woolley schools, graduating in 1986.
On April 2, 1988 she married Bill Claybo in Spokane, WA.
Karen had been an employee of the Sedro-Woolley School District for the past 10 years.
She enjoyed outings with her family, including horseback riding, camping, gardening and traveling. Because of Karen's compassion for others, she was an organ donor.
On April 14th of this year, her daughter Baily presented her with her first grandchild, Mason, whom she loved and adored.
She is survived by her husband Bill and son Nolan at the family home; daughter Baily and companion Levi Dalrymple; grandson Mason Dalrymple of Sedro-Woolley; parents Richard and Betty Swihart of Mount Vernon; grandmother Julia Johnson of Bow; sister, Connie Jackson and her husband Buster; mother and father-in-law, Grady and Shirley Claybo of Birdsview; sisters-in-law, Debbie, Barb and Cindy; brothers-in-law, David and Larry; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandfather, Art Johnson of Bow; and grandparents, Lynn and Blanche Swihart.
At Karen's request, graveside services will be held at the Hamilton Cemetery.
