Richard A. Riffe
Reardan, Wash., March 3 – Richard A. Riffe, long a resident of this area, died Wednesday at a Spokane hospital. He was active in the community, having been county commissioner two terms, from 1910 to 1916. More recently he was twice mayor of the town and for many years served on the park board. He was born January 11, 1966 in Upper Lake, Calif., and came to Washington in 1891. He farmed near Reardan until 1920, when he retired. Since then he has lived here. His wife survives him at the home, and also his daughter, Mrs. Anton J. Zwainz, and two grandchildren, Janice and Richard Zwainz, all of Los Angeles.
Funeral services were held here this afternoon at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. Richard A. Logan officiating. Burial was in the Reardan cemetery. [Spokane Daily Chronicle; 3.3.1951; p. 25]
