"Marjorie (Riffe) Zwainz of Laguna Hills, CA, died Dec 24, 1987 at her Palm Terrace retirement home. Services were held Dec 29 at the McCormick Laguna Hills Chapel with Pastor Dallas Gladson officiating. Interment was at Inglewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. Zwainz was born Dec 11, 1899, at the family farm northwest of Reardan, the only child of a former Lincoln County Commissioner, Richard and Floye Riffe. She attended the Windy Hill elementary school and graduated in 1915 from Reardan High School. After receiving her teaching certificate from Cheney Normal, she taught school at Ritzvilleand Davenport before marrying Anton J Zwainz on Nov 24, 1921. They farmed the Zwainz homestead for a few years before moving to southern California . Marjorie and Anton were married 58 years before his death in Jan of 1979. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Willis Anderson of Laguna Niguel , CA ; and one granddaughter, Vicki Anderson of Huntington Beach, CA. One son, Richard, preceded her in death in 1953. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, George and Zinnia Zwainz of Reardan; and sister-in-law, Mary Derdowski of Sacramento, CA. She had three nieces and five nephews by marriage."
