Celostine Belcher, 79, of Boca Raton, FL and formerly of Bowling Green, KY passed away on January 1, 2016. She was the younger of two children born to Wilford and Hallie Tygret in Bowling Green.
Celostine is survived by her daughter, Tammy Taylor; granddaughters, April (Bill) Brown and Christina Grimes; and great granddaughters, Lola and Hallie. Also left to cherish her memory is her brother, Charles Wayne Tygret and his wife, Elsie. Celostine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oscar, in 1982.
Raised on a farm in Bowling Green, KY, Celostine resided in Bowling Green until 2014. She graduated with an associate’s degree, a significant achievement for a woman of her time in rural Kentucky. An intelligent, independent, fun-loving, and a social person, she loving doing things for others and provided endlessly for her granddaughters. Celostine proudly worked as a bookkeeper for the same family for 50 years. She cherished being the “team Grandma” for her granddaughter’s sporting and dance ventures and had a knack for gardening. Her faith in God brought her to Living Hope Baptist Church, where she created a wonderful church family and was very involved with their workings.
Visiting hours will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 P.M. She will be laid to rest with her husband on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery, Bowling Green, KY.
