Jeanne L. Shirey, 84, fromerly of Clearfield, PA and most recently of State College, PA died on Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born May 21, 1922 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Henry Harmon and Sara Edna (McDowell) Lynn.

She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she worked with the Youth Group, Vacation Bible School and the Children's Choir. She was a member of the Clearfield-Curwensville Country Club and loved playing Bridge and Golfing. She had served in the U.S. Coast Guard Spars.

She is survived by four children: Terol J. Kuplen and her husband Richard of Clearwater, FL, Connie S. Guyer and her husband Todd of Bellwood, PA, Robert E. Shirey and his wife Sandra of Pleasant Gap, PA and James L. Shirey of Clearfield, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two sisters Ruth Meagher of Waynesboro, PA and Francis Barr of Cuwrensville along with numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin R. Shirey in 1997, four sisters: Margaret Hill, May Dean, Jenny McNett and Bertha Zacko and two brothers Robert Lynn and Charles Lynn..

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert L. Rupp officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends will be received at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Monday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services.

The family suggests that contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 121 S. Second St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
