Charles Lyndell Gilbert departed this life on October 7, 2019 at Moses Cone Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was born in Henry County, Virginia on September 17, 1965 to the late Percy Albert Gilbert Sr. and the late Lucy Clanton Gilbert. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tia Ivey; grandson, Cameron Lane; sister, Lorrie Via and ex-wife Ursula Ivey Gilbert.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Desiree’ Gilbert of Bassett, VA; three sisters: Vanessa Gilbert of Bassett, VA, Carlean (Larry) Lawson of Bassett, VA, and Eunice (David) Trotter of Collinsville, VA; three brothers: Percy (Annita) Gilbert Jr. of Bassett, VA, Timothy Gilbert of Bassett, VA, and David Gilbert of Collinsville, VA; a special friend, Juliaette Sligh and Precious My’Kalia Sligh who adored her “PaPa.” Lyndell also leaves to cherish his memory a host of loving nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and other relatives and friends
