Percy A. Gilbert, Sr., 84, of Bassett, passed away on September 23, 2016 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Blacksburg. Percy was born in Henry County on August 19, 1932 to William Gilbert and Laura E. Wimbush Gilbert. He was preceded also in death by his wife, Lucy Gilbert; daughter, Lorre Via; sisters, Mae W. Stanley, Daisy Pannell, and Hattie Callaway; brothers, Joe Gilbert and Thomas Gilbert.
Percy is survived by daughters, Vanessa Gilbert, Janet Jones and Eunice Trotter (David); sons, Percy Gilbert, Jr. (Anita), Timothy Gilbert, David Gilbert and Charles Gilbert; ten grandchildren; brothers, John Gilbert (Sally) and William Gilbert.
Burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens.
Percy is survived by daughters, Vanessa Gilbert, Janet Jones and Eunice Trotter (David); sons, Percy Gilbert, Jr. (Anita), Timothy Gilbert, David Gilbert and Charles Gilbert; ten grandchildren; brothers, John Gilbert (Sally) and William Gilbert.
