End Comes After Five Year Illness; Funeral Plans Are Indefinite
Mrs. Johanna Sophia Timm, 84, died at her home in Bloomington township at 6:40 Thursday night following an illness of more than five years.
Mrs. Timm was born in Germany, Feb. 8, 1847, coming to this country, and directly to this vicinity, in the fall of 1872. She made her home in Muscatine for 10 years and then moved to a farm in Lake township, later removing to Bloomington township. She was married to Henry Timm, Aug. 15, 1871, and he died, Jan. 24, 1924. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran church.
Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Anna Balmos and Mrs. Mary Weiss, Bloomington township; Mrs. Emma Jones, Muscatine; the Misses Elizabeth and Clara Timm, at home; C.M. Timm, H. A. Timm and Walter Timm, all of Muscatine; and Powell Timm at home; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Wittich Funeral Home and will be announced later. The body will be taken from the Wittich chapel to the home in Bloomington township today. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
