Clara L. Trobaugh Clelland, 73, lived on 47 Plaza Drive, Peru, Indiana, and she died at 11:30 am Monday, October 5, 1981 at Dukes Memorial Hospital from cadiopulmonary arrest secondary to myocardial infarction/probable pneumonia.

Clara was a homemaker and enjoyed tending to her garden.

She was born December 16, 1907 in Sparta, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Lafayette Trobaugh and Nancy Jane Maynard (Trobaugh). She came from a large family. She had 12 siblings: Lola Trobaugh Anderson (1889-1983), Sibie Trobaugh (1891-1891), David 'Dave' C. Trobaugh (1893-1966), Clarence Henry Trobaugh, Sr. (1895-1968), Ada Odell Trobaugh Bryant Durham (1898-1989), Almon L. Trobaugh, Sr. (1900-1955), Harriett Trobaugh Jones (1902-?), Rachel Trobaugh Jones Grever (1904-1989), Douglas "Duck" Trobaugh (1905-1931), Mary Myrtis Trobaugh Martin (1909-2003), Minnie Trobaugh Hedges (1912-?), and Edward Pruiette Trobaugh (1914-1982). Ada, Dave, Mary, and Pruitte all settled in Sparta, Tennessee. Harriett setled in Itta, Mississippi. Rachel settled in Indianapolis, Indiana. Almon settled in Ada, Oklahoma. Minnie settled in Detroit, Michigan. Lola settled in Gainsboro, Tennessee, and Clarence settled in Baxter, Tennessee.

Clara also had 5 half siblings from her father's first marriage: George Lafayette Trobaugh (1875-1926), Flora Beatrice Trobaugh Lafever (1879-1956), Reverend James Thomas "Jim" Trobaugh (1885-1950), Lucetta Trobaugh (1886-?), and Gladys Trobaugh (1887-?).

She married John Nelson Clelland on June 23, 1928 in Miami County, Indiana. They had five children together (4 girls and 1 boy). Robert Weldon Clelland lives in Anderson, Indiana. Three of her daughters were still alive: Patty Jo Clelland Hartleroad Stone Binion Stone of Mexico (Indiana), Dorothy Clelland Van Scoy of Denver (Indiana), and Nancy Clelland Mills Baker of Crete, Illinois. Her oldest daughter, Ruth Maxine Clelland Townsend of Peru, Indiana, died July 30, 1975.

She wed Elden L. Henry on June 7, 1960, and Mr. Henry died in 1979.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday October 7, 1981 at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. The Reverend Richard Boswell officiated. She was buried next to her oldest daughter at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru Indiana.
