Bobbie Jean Lutz Bowman, 89, of Lawndale, NC passed away, Monday, September 30, 2019, at Atrium Health - Cleveland.
Born March 27, 1930, in Catawba County, NC; the daughter of the late Evan Miller Lutz (1897–1975) and Sarah Jane Hudson Lutz (1900–1992); wife of the late Harold "Bud" Glenn Bowman (1929–1997).
A graduate of Banoak School where she was valedictorian of her class; retired from Cleveland / CaroKnit after 50 years of service; a member of Lawndale Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher for the children's department for about 35 years and also served as the church secretary.
Survivors also include her son, Vincent "Vince" Bowman (1963–2021) and wife, Christy; daughter, Vickie Bowman Furlough (Jim); brother, Alan Lutz; sister, Edith Frances Lutz Hull; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by her brothers, Loy Edison Lutz (1920–1944), Linton Franklin Lutz (1922–1969), Clarence Willis Lutz (1925–1988), and Vance Vano Lutz (1927–2006); and sisters, Myrtle Laverne Lutz Sain (1932–2001), Gladys Lutz Shull (1938–2019), and Margaret Ruth Lutz Lockamy (1941-1983).
Visitation was from 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Lawndale Baptist Church.
The funeral service followed at 12:00 Noon at Lawndale Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Kilby officiating; burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
