The following clipping from Wednesday's News and Observer will convey sad tiding to the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin, in this city, and elsewhere; "John Kenmore Ervin, aged about four years, after an illness of more than two weeks, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H Ervin, on Halifax street, yesterday morning at seven o'clock. For some time he was considered seriously ill and for the last few days his death was expected at any hour. The interment was in Oakwood cemetery yesterday afternoon at five o'clock. The funeral services were held at the grave, conducted by Rev. W. C Tyree, pastor of the First Baptist Church."
