William Larry “Billy” Carr, Sr. age 65, of Mount Storm, WV passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home.
William was born June 10, 1954 in Keyser, WV and was a son of the late Carnie Carr, Sr. and Wilma Lee (Layton) Carr.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Jean Carr; brother-in-law, Robert Haslacker.
Billy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dana L. (Matlock) Carr; two sons, William L. “Bill” Carr, Jr. of Keyser, WV; Alexander S. “Alex” Carr of Inwood, WV and one daughter, Amanda C. “Mandy” Bloss of Short Gap, WV; three grandchildren, Emily Carr, Ethan Carr and Isabella Bloss; two sisters, Betty (Wayne) Hawk of Mechanicsburg, PA and Connie L. Haslacker of Maysville, WV; one brother, Carnie Carr, Jr. of Mt. Storm, WV; several special nieces and nephews.
Billy was a graduate of Union High School. He was a heavy equipment operator and was currently happily retired. He was a skilled carpenter and an avid hunter. He was happiest when he was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. John Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, WV. Memorial donations may be made to Allegheny Mountain Top Public Library, P.O. Box 161, Mount Storm, WV. 26739.
