She was born on February 21, 1920 in Elwood, Indiana.
She retired after 30 years of service at Indiana Bell where she worked as a telephone operator. She was a graduate of Elwood High School. She was a member of the East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include: Son – Richard K and wife Lorna Porter of FL; Brother – William K. and wife Jeanne Davies of Elwood; Sister – Lucille and husband Ferol Barnes of Elwood; 2 Grandsons – Chad Porter and Clint Porter; Several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Jenkin J. and Pearl M. (Hurst) Davies; Brother – Jack M. Davies.
Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Elwood City Cemetery with Rev. Roger Gardner of the East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. No Visitation will be held. The Porter family would like to thank Community Park View Care Center and St. Vincent Mercy Hospital for the care they received.
