Personal History


In 1940, Guido and Pauline lived on 1921 Mountain Street with their children next door to his future sister-in-law Josephine Inglese (she married his brother Arnold). He worked as an oil salesman. In 1950, they lived on 1725 Moore Street.


Guido, his brother Arnold, his brother-in-law Carmen Bruno, Ralph and Louise Inglese, Rudolph H. Isdaner, William Jenkins, Gerardo Bonanni, Frank Parco, Domenico Aversa, Thomas A. Riccardo, and Michael Forte ran a bootleg liquor ring, operating speakeasies on roof tops, with their headquarters near 10th and Walkins Streets in Philadelphia. They would lower a bucket to the ground where customers would put their payment in the basket. Then they raised the basket, put the customer's liquor in it, and lowered it to the customer. They were exposed by the Federal Grand Jury on September 18, 1942.
