Aaron H. Hower, Sr., 90, of Schnecksville, died Thursday, December 25, 2008, in his home. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Tucker) Hower. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 6. Born in Kreidersville, on March 30, 1918, Aaron was the son of the late Lloyd C. and Ellen C. (Saylor) Hower.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the Army during World War II with a rank of First Lieutenant. Aaron was employed as a machinist at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 29 years before retiring in 1980. He also was a life long farmer in Lowhill Township. Aaron was a former School Board Member for the Northwestern Lehigh School District.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Lana L. Hower of Lisbon Falls, Maine; sons, Aaron H. Hower, Jr. and his wife Sally of New Tripoli, Larry L. Hower of Schnecksville; sister, Mabel E. Lindenmoyer of Northampton; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Services: Private and at the convenience of the family. No calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
