"George T. Hower, 80, of 1218 Tatamy Road, Easton, died Friday in Sacred Heart Hospital. He was the husband of Mabel A. (Ruch) Hower. They were married 54 years last March.

He was a custodian for the Easton School Area District for 15 years, retiring in 1977. Before that, was a self-employed farmer for almost 40 years.

Born in Allen Township, he was a son of the late Lloyd T. and Ellen (Saylor) Hower.

He was a Sunday School teacher and council member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kreidersville.

Hower was a past director of the Lehigh Valley Farms Cooperation Association.

He and his wife were recognized for 3,000 hours of volunteer work at Gracedale, Nazareth R.1.

Survivors: Wife; sons, Allen C. and Arthur G., both of Plainfield Township and Thomas L. of Moore Township; daughter, Eileen E., wife of James A. Sandt of Plainfield Township; brothers, Allen of Middlesex, N.J., Warren and Paul, both of Kreidersville, and Aaron of Schnecksville; sister, Mabel, wife of Raymond Lindenmoyer of Allen Township; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Call 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Arrangements, Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, Nazareth."
